| 2007 European Artistic Championships - Irish team flies the flag! |

The Irish men's & women's delegation returned home today from the 2007 European Artistic Championships in Amsterdam. With the march to Olympic qualification already in progress the championships was packed with the all the European big hitters aiming for 2008 Olympic Glory. On the Men's side Phoenix's Wayne Healy was accompanied by coach Tom Dillon & judge Colm Murray. Wayne competed only 4 pieces - Floor, Pommel, Vault & Parallel Bars and finished 71st overall posting his highest score of 13. 750 on Vault. Wayne used this event to test some big new improvements in routines in a major international event. On the Women's side Grainne Johnston finished 64th all-around and had an unlucky fall on her new floor routine which has been developed with the coming Northern European's in mind for finals. Sarah Wedel of Douglas competed only 3 pieces posing her highest score of 12.725 on beam with an ever improving and increasingly steady beam routine finishing 58th on this apparatus. Limericks Jean Masterson competed 2 pieces & posted her top score of 10.975 on floor finishing 74th on this apparatus. WAG coaches Aoidhinn Dunn (Douglas) & Meabh Ni Dhulaing (Eccles) accompanied the gymnasts with judges Mandy McMaster & Jo Orr (Salto).
