| IG maintains 2010 NGB Core Grant from 2009 |
|
IG has maintained funding levels for the 'National Governing Body (NGB) Core Grant' allocation for 2010 receiving an allocation of €169,545, the same as in 2009. While there was no increase for IG it is encouraging that we are included as one of only 11 sports out of 59 funded that maintained their funding levels this year in a year where the ISC's budget was cut by 4%.
Unfortunately there was a cut of €20,000 in the 'Women in Sport' allocation for 2010 with IG receiving €69,000 ranking 8th out of the 27 allocations made to sports from this fund.
This brings IGs total allocation for 2010 to €238,545 with funding being prioritised towards the ongoing development of core services.
The ISC investment plus IG internal finance from the membership scheme, coach education programme and the launch of new initiatives such as Springboard and new IG Awards Schemes in 2010 will ensure that we will be able to continue along the development path laid out in the Strategic Plan 2009 - 2012, albeit with cautious planning and tightening of belts.
