DANIEL FOX SHINES AT 2008 CELTIC CUP
Douglas gymnast Daniel Fox made history at the weekend by claiming Irelands 1st men's medal in the Celtic Cup. Daniel had a superb competition, placing 2nd all-around in the minor competition (U-13) with a score of 71.050 - just 1.15 behind Iwan Mephan from Wales. The minor men's team finished in 3rd place - a result that was mirrored later by the men's Junior team. The Junior team was led by Chris O'Connor who put in a solid performance to finish in the unlucky position of 4th overall - just out of the medals. The Irish minor women finished in 4th place in the team event with the lead performance coming from Emma Lunn who finished in 14th place with a score of 33.860. The junior women finished in the same position in the junior team event in the afternoon - led by Aimee O'Driscoll who hit a score of 42.500 for 13th place. The event hosted by Irish Gymnastics was a huge success and gained enormous praise from all visiting delegations. Full report will follow in march edition of IG Magazine...
